Clients are first thoroughly assessed to ascertain the cause of any pain or dysfunction. Treatment will then be directed, on an individual basis, to relieve any symptoms and also help prevent further recurrence of the problem.
Examples of conditions commonly treated are - back, neck and thorax pain. Shoulder problems including frozen shoulder, instability and rotator cuff injuries. Tennis / golfers elbow. Hand and wrist injuries. Hip and knee problems, including osteo-arthritis, ligament and cartilage injuries. Muscle and ligament strains, tendonitis, headaches, plantar fascitis.
Examples of treatments used are- manual therapy (mobilisation / manipulation), electrotherapy (ultrasound, laser, interferential, TENS), massage therapy, exercise rehabilitation, core stability training, acupuncture.
Chris Mallows qualified at the University of Brighton in 1993, and has since worked in both the NHS, where he worked as an extended scope practitioner at East Surrey and Crawley Hospitals, and also in the private sector.
Chris has post graduate diploma in sports medicine, orthopaedic medicine and injection therapy.
