Training
I trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for a total nine years at two different establishments. The first was Fook Sang Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Practitioners Training College, where I studied under Dr Lee Kai Lam. After the college closed I went to study on the five year BSc course at Middlesex University. I graduated with a First Class Honours and was also awarded the Prize for Excellence in TCM studies. My studies at Middlesex were also recognised by the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine who awarded me a Bachelor of Medicine.
In 2004, I spent seven months in China where I studied in two of Beijing’s largest TCM hospitals. The doctors tutored me on the latest techniques and treatment methods used in China. I gained extensive experience working on the cardiology, neurology, respiratory, gynaecology, dermatology, traumatology and paediatric wards.
Work Experience
I have gained experience in the Whittington NHS Trust Hospital ‘Pain Clinic’ providing patients with acupuncture to help their chronic pain conditions. I also partook in volunteer work in the Chinese National Healthy Living Centre next to London’s China Town. Here we provided low cost treatments to the elderly Chinese community.
At present work for Asante Academy of Chinese Medicine in Archway, London. Asante are the affiliated Teaching and Research Centre of Chinese Medicine for Middlesex University. Asante not only provide private treatments for patients but also supply treatments in several NHS establishments.
I also run a private practice in Hertfordshire, in the exquisite surroundings of The Meeting Room, Kings Langley.
I have a good knowledge of many medical conditions but I have had particular success in the fields of musculo-skeletal problems such as sports injuries, back pain, sciatica, arthritis and also menstrual aliments such as painful, delayed and irregular menstrual bleeding.
Membership
I am a full member of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine who are the largest governing body for TCM in the UK. Membership means that I must follow strict professional codes of conduct.

Treatments Available
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a complete medical system that is made up of several different modalities. They can be used individually or in a complementary role greatly increasing the benefits of the treatment.
Acupuncture – is the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body. The insertion of the needles helps to regulate the function of the internal organs, restoring health.
Chinese Herbal Medicine – is the use of natural herbal products that are normally combined into a formula. I offer herbal medicine in the form of pills for your convenience.
Tuina & Acupressure – is a manipulative therapy similar to massage. Acupuncture points are utilised to deliver a treatment that not only relaxes the body but also helps to regulate its internal workings. This treatment is very popular with patients who are a little apprehensive about receiving acupuncture.
Moxibustion – is a method used to reinforce the action of acupuncture. A dried herb is burnt near to the skin to warm and invigorate the area and promote circulation.
Cupping – is another method used to increase the effects of acupuncture. Small glass cups are placed on the body and a vacuum is created inside. This again has the action of invigorating the area and promoting circulation.
Auricular (Ear) Acupuncture – can be used to further the effects of an acupuncture session or an alternative to receiving acupuncture on the body. As either very small needles or seeds are used it is a very popular alternative to receiving acupuncture for those who are a little apprehensive.
Electro-Acupuncture – is a method used to greatly improve the action of the acupuncture. The needles are inserted into the body and a small current is delivered to them. This method is most commonly used for patients suffering from pain conditions with great effect.
Abdominal Acupuncture – is a method of inserting acupuncture needles mainly on the abdomen. As the depth of insertion required for this type of acupuncture is extremely shallow is it has become a popular alternative for those who are worried about needles.
